SÂNZIANA + ALBERTO
There are weddings you photograph… and then there are weddings that quietly stay with you long after they are over.
Sânziana and Alberto’s wedding was one of those.
They chose to celebrate at SunGarden in Cluj, surrounded by family and friends who traveled from more than 32 countries. Sânziana was born in Romania but moved to Canada as a child. Alberto is from Spain. Today, they call Dubai home. Their story has crossed continents, and for one weekend, so did the people they love.
With so many cultures, languages, and backgrounds coming together, you might expect a certain distance between people. Instead, what I witnessed was something beautifully simple: kindness, warmth, and genuine joy. Everyone was there for the same reason: to celebrate two people they deeply cared about.
And what a celebration it was!
I honestly can’t remember the last time I saw a dance floor with so much life. For hours, nobody wanted the night to end. CDJ and Matei Sax created an atmosphere that words can hardly describe.
Raluca and Florin from Rotund Perfect beautifully documented the day digitally. My role was different.
Sânziana and Alberto wanted a small part of their story to exist on film. Not because film is trendy, but because it has a way of slowing time. It asks you to wait. It embraces imperfections. And somehow, it preserves emotions in a way that feels timeless.
Every frame you see here is exactly that: a small piece of a day that deserved to be remembered with honesty.
Looking back, I realize this wedding was special not because of the countries represented, the elegant venue, or the incredible party.
It was special because everything felt real.
None of it would have unfolded so effortlessly without Cristina Pop, who planned every detail with the same care and dedication she brings to every wedding she touches. Watching everything come together so naturally made me just as honored as it made me grateful.
Sânziana and Alberto, thank you for trusting me with these memories.
It was a privilege to tell a small part of your story through film.
PS: I photographed the entire day exclusively on film using the Nikon FM2 (Portra 160), Zenit 11 (Iflord HP5 400), and Praktica 450AF (Agfa Color 400, Kodak ColorPlus 200).
